Alexander Godunov was, to my mind, the greatest ballet dancer of the twentieth century. Martine Van Hamel, who is in her seventies now, will never realise how privileged she was to have had the chance to dance with that perfect artist. Godunov was not only a dancer, he was an expressive one, trained by the masters of the Bolshoi.
